The coast will be crawling with hot rods, vintage cars and those who love them in September. Get your motor running, head out on the highway and hit the coast for a hot September full of hot rod happenings!
The Seaside Wheels ‘N’ Waves show September 9-12 is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for anyone who’s ever appreciated a vintage hot rod. This show is limited to modified vehicles built prior to 1962, so you’ll see plenty of good old American cars from the “rat rods” to the classics.
The 10th Annual Slow Drag at the Port of Ilwaco takes place on September 10 where hot rods line up on Waterfront Way to compete in a coasting competition. Top speeds can’t exceed 20 miles per hour in this “race” and no brakes are allowed! Hot rods coast in neutral down the 200-yard course and the car that completely crosses the finish line stopping closest to the line takes the title.
Ocean Park plays host to the 26th Annual Rod Run to the End of the World presented by the Beach Baron’s Car Club September 11 & 12. This classic car and hot rod show is a favorite to enthusiasts of all ages. The weekend schedule of events includes lots of car-related fun for the family. Show takes place at Wilson Field on Sandridge Road in Ocean Park.
Lincoln City gets in on the hot rod action with their Surf City Classic Car Show September 18 & 19 at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. The coolest classics and hottest rides will be cruisin’ in for their chance at thousands of dollars in prize money. Categories include PT Cruisers, Trucks, Classics, Corvettes and for the first time Rollerz Only Lowriders. There will be a beer and wine garden, live music and lots of food and fun at Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City!
