A new book has been published titled Images of America: Newport, which tells the history of the City of Newport through stories imagery, history and lore. The authors are staff members Diane Disse, Jodi Weeber, and Loretta J. Harrison of the Lincoln County Historical Society. Through rich photographs and text, the book follows the history of Newport from its early inhabitants through the two World Wars illustrating the beauty and bounty of the area and the independent, hearty and versatile people who populated it.
